Although not an official holiday or celebration in Canada, several Legion branches try to plan a memorial service for their war dead as close to D-Day as possible. In Rivers, the 2015  Decoration Day ceremony was Sunday, June 7. In fact, Branch No. 75 basically honoured veterans, dead or alive, all weekend long.

Neepawa RCMP investigate damaged speed reader signs

Neepawa RCMP  are interested in finding out more about a dark colour Dodge diesel truck with a lift that was seen in the Riding Mountain area on  June 14, 2015. Just before 10:00 am, that day, Neepawa RCMP were notified that two solar panel digital speed reader signs in Riding Mountain, Manitoba were damaged. The signs are owned by the Province of Manitoba. The damage is estimated at approximately $20,000.

The Gladstone Manitoba Youth Job Centre is open once again for the summer! Centres across Manitoba are in their 40th year of successfully supporting youth employment in Manitoba. The Gladstone Manitoba Youth Job Centre (MYJC) is sponsored by Manitoba Children and Youth Opportunities in partnership with the West-Lake Gladstone Municipality , and serves the communities of Austin, Embury, Katrime, Lakeland, Ogilvie, Plumas, Tenby, Waldersee and Woodside.
