Rivers Police Service Chief Bruce Klassen was contacted by a couple in Rivers who received a suspicious phone call. The retired RCMP officers knew protocol so ignored the telephone scam and instead, alerted the local department of this matter.

Finding funding for fitness

When the current Rivers Collegiate Institute (RCI) principal Mike Klassen was RCI’s gym teacher (four years ago), he had a dream to have a fitness area in the school. Now that a computer room is unnecessary (because each student is supplied their own) he worked with current gym teacher Taryn Luhowy to make this dream a reality.

Saturday, June 13 a pre-wedding social was held at Kenton Memorial Hall for Kelly Thomson and Chad Hunter who will be married in November. It was a wonderful evening and well attended.
