RM of Oakview - June 14: Wastes have been pushed back at Rapid City landfill and a contractor hired to haul covering for the wastes. A Rapid City Reservoir and Beach Committee has been formed to assist with improvements required. A quote for hooking water/sewer lines and additional streetlights into the proposed Rapid City Museum Subdivision was reviewed.

Museum in Arden in the works

The Glenella Lansdowne Heritage Resource Tourism Committee is in the process of converting the former Arden United Church into a heritage museum. The museum committee first met in early spring to start figuring out the logistics of the project. Currently, they are moving some of their donated artefacts into the building and plan to start setting up the layout on July 6.

80 years ago Friday, June 23, 1936
Miss Florence Merriman brought honour to herself again in Winnipeg last week when she won the intermediate high jump in the Provincial Ladies Amateur Athletic Association’s events. She cleared the bar at five feet and three quarters of an inch, which is one and a half inches over the last Canadian record. Congratulations.

Changes made to grant program

Neepawa Town Council Tuesday, June 21
Neepawa has made changes to its community grants program. The revised document has created six varieties of grant availability; Direct Award, Strategic Plans, In-Kind Contributions, Special Events, Community Events and Micro Grants. Mayor Adrian de Groot said Town Council agreed to the revisions, which it believes will clarify which organizations are eligible for the program and in which category.
