MJHL announces yearly award winners; Natives' Lindsay named to rookie all-star team

The Manitoba Junior Hockey League announced its yearly award winners on Friday.
Forward Guillaume Naud of the Dauphin Kings was awarded with the Steve Boomer Hawrysh award, which is given annually to the league's MVP.
Naud, 20, who hails from Quebec City, has netted 25 goals and 68 points in 51 games thus far this season.
Runners-up for the MVP were Parker Thomas of the Selkirk Steelers and Kajon McKay of Portage Terriers.
Meanwhile, former Neepawa Native Adam Iwan was awarded with the league's top goaltender award.
Iwan, 19, has been outstanding this season with the Portage Terriers, reflected in a 20-12 record, 3.04 GAA and .905 save percentage this season.
Iwan spent a part of the 2010-2011 season with the Natives prior to being dealt to Portage after that season.
Runners-up were Jeremy Pominville of the Dauphin Kings and Justin McDonald of the OCN Blizzard.

Rookie of the year - Vince Leah Trophy
Tristan Keck, Winkler Flyers
Keck, 17, has 24 goals and 52 points after 51 games.
Runners-up were Justin Baudry of the Steinbach Pistons and Garrett Johnston of the Swan Valley Stampeders.
Top defenceman - Brian Kozak Trophy
Tanner Butler, Dauphin Kings
The 19-year-old native of Souris, has 42 points after 51 games.
Runners-up were Josh Elmes of the OCN Blizzard and Tanner Jago of the Winkler Flyers.
Hockey ability – Lorne Lyndon Trophy
Connor Cleverley, Winnipeg Blues
Cleverley, 20, hails from Winnipeg and has been a key figure in the Blues’ offensive attack with 34 goals and 60 points after 51 games.
Runners-up were Jory Mullin of the Winkler Flyers and Brett Pinkerton of the Waywayseecappo Wolverines.
Coach of the Year - Muzz McPherson Award
Don MacGillivray, Winnipeg Blues
MacGillivray, who has more than 500 wins in the MJHL during his coaching career, has led the Blues to a 37-13-1 record (as of Feb. 15).
Runners-up were Paul Dyck of the Steinbach Pistons and Blake Spiller of the Portage Terriers.
MJHL all-star teams announced
The MJHL also announced its all-star teams. Drake Lindsay of the Neepawa Natives was named to the rookie all-star team. Lindsay, from Grosse Isle, has 10 goals and 34 points in 51 games this season.
