Defending champion Rob Fowler remains alive and kicking at the Safeway men's provincial curling championship in Neepawa.

In Draw 11, Fowler and David Kraichy of Fort Rouge held a close match until the very end. Kraichy started off strong with a 4-2 lead after five ends. Fowler and Kraichy then traded deuces back and forth. Fowler would score one in the eighth and stole a deuce in the ninth to make the score 7-6 for Fowler.

Kraichy tied it up in the 10th end but a draw to the eight foot for a single was successful for Fowler in the 11th to claim the victory.

Fowler, Scott Ramsay of Granite, Steen Sigurdson of Fort Rouge, and Dennis Bohn of Assiniboine Memorial all advance to the playoff round beginning at 7:45 p.m.
