Safeway Championship update: Fowler defeats Brown

Draw 2 of the Safeway Championship is in the books in Neepawa.
Defending champion Rob Fowler (Brandon) is off to a good start at the men's provincial curling championship, defeating Grant Brown of Burntwood by a score of 8-2.
Fowler led from start to finish, scoring four points in the first end resulting in the two teams shaking hands after only six ends.
Meanwhile, sixth-seeded Sean Grassie of Deer Lodge took care of business as well, defeating Blair Goethals of Deloraine 11-2.
Both Neepawa rinks were in action as well with Neepawa's Jerry Chudley defeating David Kraichy of Fort Rouge 7-6, while Kelly Robertson's team dropped a 7-6 decision to Steen Sigurdson (Fort Rouge).
William Lyburn of Deer Lodge was the other Draw 2 winner, defeating Bruce Jones' St. Vital team by a score of 6-3.
All the winners from Draw 2 advanced to the A side.
