Farmers ground Pilots

The Neepawa Farmers have improved to 4-1 on the season, with a 3-2 weekend win over the Pilot Mound Pilots in the Tiger Hills Hockey League. 

Bryan White opened the scoring for Neepawa with a power play goal early in the first period. Pilot Mound tied things up with only 1:29 remaining in the first. The Farmers however quickly responded, as Lance Nugent scored just before the end of the opening period, to make the score 2-1.

Brayden Collins of Pilot Mound scored the lone goal in the second to tie the game at 2-2. Neil Ernest of Neepawa notched the game winner at the 9:42 mark of the final period, with assists from Kent Shltroth and Brett Levandoski.

With the win, the Farmers are two points up on Gladstone, Swan Lake and Glenboro in the East Division. Killarney remains the top team in the entire Tiger Hills Hockey League at 5-0.

The next home game for the Farmers is set for Saturday, Nov. 29 against Melita.

Elsewhere around the league, the Gladstone Lakers were able to double up the Carberry Plainsmen 8-4.

Tanner Waldvogel had a huge game for Gladstone  scoring twice and adding three assists, while Riley Hay scored three goals and added one helper. Captain Blaine Jarvis also notched four points on the evening with a goal and three assists.

The next home game for the Gladstone Lakers will be on Saturday, Nov. 22,  against the Deloraine Royals.
