MJHL Press Release

Three graduates of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League are winners of the MJHL Scholarship Fund, commissioner Kim Davis announced today.

Tyler Anton (Steinbach Pistons), Erik Pushka (Selkirk Steelers) and Joel Schreyer (Winnipeg Blues) have each won a $750 scholarship to a Canadian post-secondary institution.  Anton will attend Brock University, while Pushka and Schreyer will attend Wilfred Laurier University and the University of Manitoba, respectively.

“All three players were tremendous individuals both on and off the ice,” said Davis. “We recognize that going to a post-secondary institution can be an expensive decision. These scholarships will assist our graduating players to pursue their academic goals.”

Meanwhile, the MJHL’s regular season kicks off Friday, September 19 on five fronts. The defending champion Winnipeg Blues begin defence of their title in Selkirk against the Steelers while the Neepawa Natives will host the OCN Blizzard at the Yellowhead Centre
