The Neepawa Tigers ended their regular season on a high note in the Westman High School Hockey League.

Brendan Harris netted a hat trick, while team captain Garett Rempel scored twice helping the Tigers defeat the Killarney/Wawanesa Raiders 10-1 at the Yellowhead Centre.

Shane Levandosky, Bryson Kaye, Wyatt Salmon, Jeremy Hodgins and Cole Krutkewich scored the other goals for the Tigers, who finished the regular season with a 14-4-0 record.

The Tigers will either finish in third or fourth place in the standings, depending on the outcome of the game on Monday night between Dauphin and Deloraine/Hartney. If the Tigers finish in third, the club will take on the sixth seed Melita/Waskada Devils in the first round of the playoffs. If Neepawa finishes fourth, they'll battle the Brandon-based Vincent Massey Vikings.

Tigers coach Gary Salmon says he was was pleased with his club's performance the latter part of the season and is looking forward to the club's next contest, which takes place on Wednesday night. The Tigers will travel to Rivers to take on the Rivers/Elton Rage in Game 2 of a best-of-three provincial playdown series. If successful, the Tigers, who hold a one game lead in the series, will play either Major Pratt (Russell) or Minnedosa in a best-of-three north final. The winner will gain entry into the AA provincials, slated to take place March 13-15 in Russell.

"Wednesday's game is very important game for the team. If we can get a win, we can put that series behind us and focus on the first round of [the league] playoffs," said Salmon.
