Robertson named new head coach of Cougars

The Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League's Southwest Cougars have made a coaching change.

Virden product Mike Robertson is taking over for Brandon product Chris Johnston behind the bench.

Robertson, who has several years of coaching experience in the Westman area, spent this past season as bench boss of the Southwest bantam AAA Cougars.

Jeff Affleck, a former member of the Cougars, has been named the team's assistant coach.

The Cougars finished this past season with a 23-19-0-2 record in the regular season and were later swept by the Winnipeg Thrashers in a best-of-three quarter-final series.
