“O Canada! Our home and native land.”

It’s been almost 50 years ago when I became a naturalized Canadian citizen. It was an impressive ceremony where I promised to be a good citizen, to obey the laws of the land and be loyal to the queen.

This weekend, some of the residents of our valley will become Canadian citizens. It’s an honor and a privilege to be a Canadian..

“God keep our land glorious and free.”

We can keep our land glorious by glorifying God and seeking His will in our prayers and praises and to keep us free from tumult and wicked ways that harm us physically, mentally or spiritually, because of His love for us.

Canada is a country that stands for peace, even when it is not their own country. Lives are sacrificed so others can live in freedom. It will always be close to my heart to remember how Canadian soldiers were instrumental in freeing this little country by the North Sea.

Let us celebrate and give God the glory for the freedom we enjoy in Canada.
