myWestman.ca The Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre’s annual regional tour is about to hit the road, bringing a touch of summer to the winter deep freeze with The Melville Boys by Norm Foster.
Lee and Owen Melville arrive at a lakeside cabin for a relaxing weekend of fishing and brotherly bonding, but before they can open their tackle boxes, their plans are interrupted by the arrival of two attractive, but very different, sisters. Canadian playwright Norm Foster shows why he’s often compared to Neil Simon with this funny and tender play about four people cast adrift who help each other find their way. The Melville Boys stars Murray Farnell as Owen Melville, Kevin Klassen as Lee Melville, Alix Sobler as Mary and Elizabeth Stephensen as Loretta. The production is directed by Christopher Sigurdson with set and costumes designed by Janelle Regalbuto, lighting design by Laura Lindeblom and sound design by Mike Wright. The travelling crew includes stage manager Leslie Sidley, assistant stage manager Kathryn Ball, tour technical director Ian Kirk and assistant tour technical director Chris Hadley. The production will stop in Gladstone on Thursday, Feb. 2 at the Gladstone District Community Centre Board, in Neepawa for the Kaleidoscope Concerts Series on Friday, Feb. 3 at the Roxy Theatre and in Minnedosa on Monday, Feb. 6 at the Minnedosa Performing Arts Committee.' |
