Natives win first preseason game |

myWestman.ca The Neepawa Natives won its first preseason game of the year, defeating Winnipeg 4-1 on Wednesday evening in St. Adolphe.
The Natives led by period scores of 1-0 and 4-1. The teams played a scoreless third. Wendell Vye looked impressive in his debut, turning aside 26 of 27 shots while the Natives scored on 4 of 33 chances. Goal scorers were Tyler Larson (Jordon Hebert and Brett Suderman), Quentin Holmes (Eddie Friesen) on the powerplay, Scott Kirkham (Jordan Palusky and Ryin Allison) and Jordon Hebert (Tyler Larson). Meanwhile, Natives' Richard Kinder picked up a fighting major, as did Mike Dopko. The Natives' next action is a home and home set against the Dauphin Kings this weekend.
