Natives report: Neepawa taking on Saints in preseason opener tonight |

myWestman.ca The Neepawa Natives are preparing for their first pre-season game tonight against the Saints.
The Neepawa Natives are in St. Adolphe this evening to take on the Winnipeg Saints in the first of five exhibition games to be played between September 1 and September 12. "Like any other time of the season, the guys are playing to win the game," Natives' head coach an GM Bryant Perrier stated on the team's website. "It is a special time of year and we expect a lot of passion out of our guys." The Natives and Saints square off at 7:30 PM, and will meet just once this preseason. Tidbits: -The Natives' had a pregame skate this morning. Meanwhile, the developmental group, which consists of 22 players, rested and will not play in the pre-season game. -Veteran forward Zach Mausolf will not play tonight as he's fighting a chest cold. -Three players are at the Brandon Wheat Kings training camp. Those are: Forwards Cody Cherepuschak, Quintin Lisoway and defenceman Nolan Speiss.
