The Western Hockey League has suspended Brandon Wheat Kings' blueliner Tyler Yaworski for six games.
Yaworski was hit with the suspension on Tuesday afternoon because of a checking-to-the-head major penalty he received in a game on Feb. 2 against the Regina Pats.
The hit resulted in an injury to Luke Fenske of the Pats and caused Yaworski to be ejected from the contest.
Yaworski's suspension begins on Wednesday night when the Wheat Kings host the Lethbridge Hurricanes. He is eligible to return to game action Feb. 18.
