MJHL: Natives drop pre-season opener; Kings active on trade front

The Neepawa Natives opened up their MJHL pre-season on Tuesday night in Dauphin against the Kings and wound up losing 3-0.

Diego Bartlett, Daniel Chartrand and Andrew Wyrrick scored for the Kings, while netminders Adam Vander Linden and Troy Martyniuk stopped 26 Natives shots to help preserve the win for Dauphin. 

In other pre-season action, the Virden Oil Capitals defeated the Portage Terriers 7-2, while the Swan Valley Stampeders lost 6-0 to the SJHL's Flin Flon Bombers. 

The Natives next pre-season game is Wednesday night when they host the Winkler Flyers at the Yellowhead Centre. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

 

Kings make roster moves

The Dauphin Kings made a series of trades on Tuesday. 

The Kings traded 19-year-old forward Sutton Olson and future considerations to the Cowichan Valley Capitals for 18-year-old defenceman Nathan Deyell.

In another move, the Kings acquired 19-year-old forward Mitch Crisanti from the Cowichan Valley Capitals for future considerations. Lastly, the Kings dealt 19-year-old defenceman Brett Seldon to the Trenton Golden Hawks of the OJHL for future considerations.

Meanwhile, the Winkler Flyers have acquired 19-year-old defenceman Luke Formica from the Prince George Spruce Kings of the BCHL for future considerations.
