Longtime members of St. James’ Anglican Church in Rivers were honoured at a luncheon following the Sunday, Oct. 30 service. Norman and Donna Short are moving to the Winnipeg area this week. Both have been dedicated supporters of St. James’ in various capacities: choir, Sunday school, co-ordinators of suppers, work bees and fundraisers, to name a few. Norm has served as lay reader for a number of years and acted as treasurer for both St. James’ Church and the Holy Saints Parish.

Following  a speech given by Rev. Sally Carter, Barry Cornish presented them a bouquet of roses, a painting by Rivers’ own Ina Hyndman and a gift of money on behalf of the members of St. James’, Rivers  and Holy Saints, Miniota. We will sorely miss the Shorts and wish them every happiness in their new home.
