For a couple months, there’s been a sign by the former Neepawa Plumbing and Heating building on the corner of 1st Ave. and Mill St. advertising a new senior’s housing complex ‘coming soon’. On Aug. 17, the project got underway, by demolishing the existing building.

Since the sign originally went up, the design for the complex has changed from a 6-plex to a 5-plex, which is accompanied by an increase in square footage. Each unit will now be 1,250 sq. ft., 250 sq. ft. bigger than the original design.

The plans for the new multi-unit housing to be built on the site.

Actual construction work for the complex is planned to start in September and finish sometime early in 2017.

Troy Mutch, a sales representative at Century 21, is the co-owner of the project. He said he hopes that the units will be ready to move into around February or March 2017. As of Aug. 17, two of the five units have been presold.
