Neepawa Public Library

Congratulations to the winners of the Neepawa Library Easter Word Hunt! People of all ages came, hunted for clues and learned some interesting things about the library along the way. We had fun, too!

The spring session of Storytime started again on Friday, April 8 at 11:00 for ages 2 to 5 and their caregivers. We’re looking forward to another busy session of reading stories and making crafts. No registration required.

Hopefully you will read this in time to come to the library on Wednesday, April 13 at 1:30 to enjoy a couple classic old movies by the masters – and we mean Laurel and Hardy, Charlie Chaplin and other greats of the silent movie and early audio movie era. Don Taylor from Minnedosa will be bringing his 8mm projector and a couple of short movies to share with anyone with an interest. No admission fee.

As for later in the month, be sure to mark April 28 on your calendar and come to the library at 5:30 pm to hear Laura Reeves of Prairie Botanicals speak about her book, Laura Reeves’ Guide to Useful Plants. Ms. Reeves is a passionate Manitoba botanist who will teach us new and interesting ways to make use of all those plants quietly growing in the back corners of our yards and lanes.

And speaking of plants, we have a good selection of gardening and yard design resources. Whether you want to grow vegetables, flowers or merely learn more about taking care of the trees and perennials in your yard, we have something for everyone. It may still appear to be winter, but it won’t be long before we’re out in our yards getting those beds ready for planting, so it’s best to be prepared!

If you have a garden and a library,

you have everything you need.”
