Rivers Agricultural Society is busy planning for the annual Manitoba Gymkhana Rodeo Association horse event at our fairgrounds on Tuesday, July 7 at 5 p.m. The very next day is our fair, which starts with a pancake and sausage breakfast before the parade at 9 a.m. Please note there is a change to our parade route this year!

Assembled floats will leave Rivers Elementary School and travel west on Sixth Avenue until they reach Quebec Street, where they will head south for three blocks. The parade will then turn east on Third Avenue until it reaches Main Street, where it will travel south for one block before heading west on Second Avenue right through to the jog south to Willow Drive for that block west until it ends at the fairgrounds. Businesses, please put on your thinking caps to create a float and then participate in our parade.

Fair books, entry forms and schedule of events lists are now available at select businesses in Rivers.

The annual cleanup bee at the fairgrounds is Monday, July 6 at 7 p.m. Many hands make light work, so if you could come help us, we would really appreciate the extra assistance. We not only need manpower, but also weed whippers and rakes.

Please save these dates to come out, have fun, eat hearty and stay safe.
