Rivers Legion Branch No. 75’s sixth fundraising supper held Saturday, April 25 was not as successful as the previous events.

Two barbecues were set up on the west side of the hall near the kitchen entrance. Beef steaks were cooked by second vice-president Allan Witt and branch member Cam White. Auxiliary members arranged the rest of the meal, with praise uttered for an onion dish, used by some as a meat sauce and as a salad by others.

There are no immediate plans for another supper in June, due to the veterans dinner on June 5 and Decoration Day on June 7. Branch president Darryl Childerhose reported that other branches will soon mark two veteran days: the Battle of the Atlantic and Afghan Veteran Day.
