On Tuesday, the inaugural game of NAC-TV bingo hit the air. While still early, NAC-TV general manager Ivan Traill is optimistic. “It went very well... [and] better than expected for the first time,” he said.

Traill added that while there were a few small technical glitches, once they got those sorted out, the game went well.

While the official number of cards sold isn’t yet available, the broadcast seems to have been able to gather strong support outside Neepawa. Cards are being sold in 21 Westman communities and Traill said they had callers from Fraserwood, MacGregor and Brandon.

The weekly Tuesday bingo games are a fundraiser for the station as it prepares for a move next summer. Descibed as a “make of break” for the station, those involved are optimistic.  “It looks like it’s going to go,” said Traill.

The games will be broadcast live at 7 p.m. every Tuesday on NAC-TV, the internet and CJ Radio. The television broadcast will be available on Westman Cable 12, MTS 30 and Bell 592.
