Riverdale Community Daycare board is thrilled to announce we have been granted space in Rivers Collegiate to renovate into a community daycare.

The space consists of three rooms in the high school. It will be licensed for 24 pre-school spots and eight infant spaces. We will  be considering before- and after-school care after we are up and running.

Our fundraising began last September with a 50/50 draw; the winner of $300 was Peggy Fortier from Brandon. We were also included in last year’s ladies night and received a donation from the proceeds of that evening. We applied to Rivers and Area Community Foundation and were awarded $2,000 that is currently being held for our project to begin. All these efforts are greatly appreciated by the board.

We were at a standstill regarding fundraising but after a lot of hard work, we have been given the go ahead to begin our project. On Nov. 2 we will be organizing a perogy fundraiser. We will be looking for volunteers for different jobs, as well as donations of ingredients or assistance with a monetary donation. Perogies can be picked up at the high school between 4-5 p.m. that day but if you are unable to pick up, we can deliver them to your door. If you would like to voluntees, donate or order, please call Lynn at 204-328-7735.
