A 31-year-old Neepawa man has been arrested and charged after he allegedly forged a cheque.

Police say the man stole a cheque, filled it out to himself and then presented it to a bank.

The cheque was taken from a house where a friend of the suspect was house-sitting. The victim meanwhile, was out of the country for several months during the winter.

The suspect is slated to appear in Brandon court on June 26, where he'll face charges of fraud under $5,000, theft under $5,000 and forgery.
