Two men facing drug charges after being pulled over for speeding

Treherne RCMP recently pulled over a car in the RM of Victoria and wound up seizing approximately two pounds of marijuana.

On Sunday, April 20, after police on patrol observed a 2000 Chrysler Intrepid on Highway 2, the vehicle was stopped as it was exceeding the posted speed limit traveling 116 kilometres in a 100 KM zone.

Subsequent investigation revealed that the two occupants of the vehicle were in possession of approximately 976 grams of marijuana, a number of morphine pills and clonazepam pills with no prescription for either and a sum of cash.

Daryl Todd Price, 51, of Cypress River, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and three counts of possession of a controlled substance. He has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in federal court on May 5.

Sean Hudson Purdy, 32, of McCreary, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a controlled substance. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in federal court on June 2.
