Brandon youth charged as a result of ongoing assault investigation

A 14-year-old female youth from Brandon was charged on Thursday as a result of an ongoing assault investigation from last December. 

The youth allegedly assaulted another female youth at a social gathering by forcefully punching and kicking the victim causing a concussion, dental damage and bodily bruising and abrasions. 

The youth was subsequently charged accordingly and released on conditions to appear in court in late April.

Assault charge

A 31-year-old Brandon man was charged with common assault and mischief to property in relation to an incident that occurred at a local restaurant earlier this month. 

The man became angered when dismissed from his employment at the business and assaulted the manager. The man was also allegedly responsible for causing damage to a computer during the altercation. 

Police arrested the man on Thursday and later released on conditions to appear in court late May.  There were no injuries as a result of the assault.
