Usually, I like to write my columns on the weekend. It’s a lot easier to organize my thoughts outside the bustle of the office, but it’s a risky strategy this week. Usually, not much changes between when I write and when we go to print, but I feel confident that won’t be the case this week.

Decision makers have to make decisions. I think the decisions are somewhat misplaced in that limiting and screening arrivals from other countries makes sense, but cancelling Canadian events seems excessive. I could be wrong and have been advised I am.

Public health officials advise the number of lab-confirmed positive and presumptive positive cases in Manitoba remains at 17 at this time.
Public health investigations are continuing on the two additional positive cases identified yesterday. It appears that both cases are related to travel.

Public health officials advise the total number of lab-confirmed positive and presumptive positive cases in Manitoba remains at 15 at this time.
Public health investigations are continuing on the seven additional positive cases identified yesterday. It appears that six of the seven cases are related to travel. Further information about travel is pending for the seventh case.
