The other day the unforeseen happened. I got stuck in the snow in the busiest street in town. I should have known better and not parked there. An embarrassing situation, but a kind young man, and someone who stopped and helped me on my way. In the evening I had an appointment, but fear took over (what if I got stuck again) and I cancelled my appointment.

Every so often, I have one of those days. They don’t come as often as they did 25 years ago, but they still come and now, since I am that much older, they are that much harder to cope with. I jokingly tell people that on those days, my time and resources are spread so thin that I feel like a pound of butter spread on a ton of dry rye bread. That’s a little extreme, I know—but I think you get the point, especially if you’ve had a few of those days recently.

They say a trait will ”run in the family” and it seems to be true for young Micah Waddell, a 21 year old aspiring metal worker. Way back, nearly 200 years ago a man named George Waddell was born in 1831 at Larbert, Sterlingshire. He was likely the son of an iron worker as his occupation is listed in a later census as an Iron Furnace Keeper.
