Cubs fall to Portage Padres

The Portage Padres were able to double up the Neepawa Cubs 8-4 on Wednesday, June 15 in Santa Clara Baseball action. Portage attained the victory through a strong pitching effort from Rod McLeod, who went five innings on the mound, allowing only five hits.

With the loss, Neepawa fell to 3-5 in the Santa Clara standings, while Portage improved to 6-1-2 on the season, good enough for a first place tie in the standings with the Minnedosa Mavericks (5-0-2) and a half game better than the Plumas Pirates (7-3). 

As for the Cubs home game that had been scheduled for Friday, July 17 against the Carberry Royals, it was postponed. As of Monday, July 20, no make up date had been announced. The next three scheduled games for Neepawa are all on the road. They’ll first match up against the Ebb and Flow Lakers on Friday, July 24, then travel to Plumas to play the Pirates on June 27 and then head to Dauphin for a game versus the Brewers on June 29. As for the next scheduled home date in Neepawa, it is set for Wednesday, July 6 against Dauphin.
