The Christmas hiatus can’t arrive soon enough for the Neepawa Natives, as they are in desperate need of some extra time to recover from their recent injury woes. The team put in a valiant effort against the Winnipeg Blues on Tuesday, Dec. 9 but were unable to overcome the 17th ranked club in the nation, falling 2-1.

The recent string of injuries to the roster of the Neepawa Natives appears to have finally caught up with the team, as the Swan Valley Stampeders were able to win in impressive fashion on Sunday night 7-3.

Despite having a depleted lineup due to recent injuries, the Neepawa Natives proved to be the better team on Friday night as they defeated the Winkler Flyers 5-3 in MJHL action.

Neepawa skater ready for Nationals

Amy Todoruk of the Neepawa Figure Skating Club is hoping to conclude her skating career on a positive note. The 17 year old is participating this week in the Skate Canada Canadian Challenge in Montreal.

One of the first major curling events of the season for western Manitoba hit the ice in Neepawa over the weekend, as Curl Manitoba hosted the Safeway Barth Bonspiel. Teams from across the province gathered at the Curling Club hoping to secure a spot in the 2015 Safeway Provincial Men’s Championship set for Brandon in February.
