The Royal Bank of Canada Cup, the championship trophy that’s annually awarded to the top junior ‘A’ hockey team in Canada was on display in Neepawa on Apr. 27-28.
Ice sports halted at Riverdale Community Centre

After a busy season, ice sports at Riverdale Community Centre, referred to locally as the rink, have slowed down. There were several hockey tournaments, including a Tournament of Champions. Rivers Jets atoms, Yellowhead Classic, Brandon Husky, Tri-Town Bobcats, female Bantam AAA, hosts for Senior A provincials and a Minor hockey Day celebration. Floor hockey for ages six to 16 is now in the planning stages.

World class boxing will be on display on Saturday, May. 2 at the Neepawa Curling Club, as the Boxe Neepawa Combat Sports and Fitness Club has scheduled a fundraising night.

Crossfit enthusiasts from across western Manitoba recently gathered in Brandon for a festivus for the rest of us. Nine members of Whitey’s Fitness Body Shop in Neepawa took up the challenge of the Festivus Games, a functional-fitness event geared towards novice and intermediate athletes.
