A pair of dominant performances on the diamond this week have earned the Neepawa Area Collegiate Institute (NACI) Tigers one championship banner and a realistic chance at securing another.

Ten-year-old Hayden Delaloye of Neepawa competed in the Maple Leaf Jr. Golf Tour on Saturday, May 14. Delaloye shot a round of 77 (+ 6 for the men’s course) at the Transcona Golf Club. That impressive score, in some less than perfect golf conditions, secured Hayden the victory in the age nine-ten category.

The Neepawa Tigers baseball team rallied back in a big way on Tuesday, May 17, to earn a massive 13-3 win over Carberry. After giving up three runs to the Cougars in the top of the first inning, the Tigers settled down on the defensive end and shut out the opposition the rest of the way.
NACI Track competes at Garden Valley Invitational

The event, which was held in Winkler on Wednesday, May 11, featured hundreds of participants from almost 20 different schools. Notable finishes from Neepawa included:

Rivers teen wins bronze at nationals

Sixteen-year-old Haylee Anderson of Rivers was in Mississauga, Ont. May 2-7 to compete in the annual National Aboriginal Hockey Championship (NAHC). As part of Team Manitoba, she and the rest of the roster claimed their second consecutive bronze medal; Haylee’s first NAHC bronze medal was won last year in Halifax.
