The Neepawa Farmers are quietly rounding into form, as the team put in a dominant performance on Saturday, Dec. 17, shutting out the Melita Bisons 6-0. Matt Lowry, Cam Tibbett and Cole Krutkewich all had big nights on the score sheet, helping the Farmers to their fifth straight victory (7-4-0)

This week’s Manitoba Junior Hockey League Showcase in Winnipeg marks the mid-way point of the 2016-2017 regular season. For the Neepawa Natives, the first half has not matched the expectations the club had going into the year, as they headed into the league wide event with a 8-21-0 record. That placed them nine points back of the Swan Valley Stampeders for the eight and final playoff spot.
Midget Chiefs blank Interlake, fall to Central Plains

The Yellowhead Chiefs claimed three of a possible four points in a pair of games over the weekend, helping them to take over top spot in the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League. The first game, played on Saturday, Dec. 10 in Shoal Lake, saw Yellowhead fall to the Central Plains Capitals in a shootout, by the final score of 4-3.

Neepawa Natives showcase skills in Winnipeg

The Neepawa Natives racked up some miles on the team bus this week with games in Waywayseecappo and Winnipeg. The first contest would see a two goal effort from Justin Metcalf, including the overtime winner, power the Neepawa Natives to a 4-3 win over the Waywayseecappo Wolverines.
