Neepawa Area Collegiate Institute (NACI) athletes ruled the podium at the Zone Seven Track and Field championship. The event, held in Neepawa on May 24 and 26, featured teams from eight different schools competing.
Neepawa Cubs off to a slow start

Much like this blasé spring, the Neepawa Cubs are not off to the hottest of starts, as the team has dropped two of their first three games. Their most recent matchups on the Santa Clara Baseball League schedule included a 6-6 tie with the Portage Padres on Wednesday, May 24 and a 10-3 loss to the Austin A’s on Sunday, May 28. Those results, coupled with Neepawa’s season opening loss to the Minnedosa Mavericks, have left the team with a 0-2-1 record.

Over the past six weeks, around 30 students from NACI have been taking part in the Run For It program, which combines run training with mental health/wellness education. This is a special kind of running club, for all levels, that focuses not only the physical aspects of running, but all the benefits of exercise on our mood, stress levels and overall well-being.

It was a hugely successful day on the track Neepawa Area Collegiate Institute (NACI) at the Track Attack competition. The event, held on Monday, May 15 in Neepawa, saw the team garner 29 top-three finishes on the day, with 10 of those being first place results.

Neepawa’s Halli Krzyzaniak is among the handful of Manitoba based players vying for a spot on Canada’s Winter Olympic hockey team.
