The very best track and field athletes from across the prairies recently converged on Winnipeg for the Western Canada Track and Field Challenge. Amongst those elite were five members of the Prairie Storm Athletics track club. Their weekend results included:

The seventh seeded Carberry Royals eliminated the Minnedosa Mavericks from the Santa Clara Baseball League playoffs, on Monday, July 17, with a 7-0 win. Carberry knocked out the second ranked Mavericks with a 2-1 series victory.

Four more players have committed to the Neepawa Natives for the upcoming Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) season. The club has announced via press release the signings of forwards Brett Namaka and Jessie Gibbons, as well as defensemen Gabriel Comeau and Ben Hilhorst.

There was a different attitude both on and off the ice for the Neepawa Natives during the club’s annual summer development camp. Fifty-three players, including both returning members of the roster and the team’s top prospects, participated in the event on Monday, July 10 and Tuesday, July 11, at the Canada Games Sportsplex in Brandon.
