The Brandon University (BU) Bobcats are taking their talents to rural schools for a third straight season. Neepawa, Carman, CFB Shilo, Melita and Neepawa will get the chance to see the Bobcats in action as the basketball and volleyball teams prepare for the 2017-18 U-Sports regular season with intra squad games:

Former Natives goalie commits to University of Calgary Dinos

Former Neepawa Natives goaltender Tyler Gutenberg is heading west for his next foray between the pipes. The Manitoba Junior Hockey League announced on Friday, Sept. 8, via online media release, that the 20-year-old has committed to the University of Calgary Dinos of USports – Canada West University Athletic Association, for the 2017-2018 season.

Kerkowich claims third Rosebowl title

For the third time in four years, Mark Kerkowich has won the Rosebowl Golf Tournament at the Neepawa Golf and Country Club.

A very familiar name will be inscribed on to the Neepawa Golf and Country Club’s Rosebowl trophy this year. That’s because it’s already been etched upon it twice before, as Mark Kerkowich has claimed his third championship.

A combination of returning veterans and young prospects hit the ice at the Yellowhead Centre, for the annual Neepawa Natives training camp.

The Neepawa Natives are heading into the MJHL exhibition season feeling pretty confident. After seeing the level of talent that was out on the ice during training camp, they have every right to be. The junior ‘A’ club wrapped up its annual fall camp on Saturday, Sept. 2, narrowing down the list of potential roster players from around 90 to 28. Natives head coach Dustin Howden said he was happy with what he saw from both the returning players and the young prospects.
