Neepawa’s Quintin Lisoway was recently singled out as the Smitty’s Bison Sports Male Athlete of the Week.

Student athlete Quintin Lisoway has been named the Smitty’s Bison Sports Male Athlete of the Week, for the week ending Jan. 28. The second year forward has continued his strong sophomore season with five points (three goals – one on the power play, two assists) while adding ten shots and a plus/minus rating of plus three, as well as being named a First Star of the Game.

The Neepawa Natives’ ice cold effort as of late, has the team sliding out of playoff contention. The latest step back for the MJHL club was a 3-1 defeat to the Swan Valley Stampeders on Tuesday, Jan. 31.

Farmers finish first in THHL east

Neepawa’s Ward Szucki went off on the Melita Bisons, with a spectacular seven point performance (four goals - three assists), leading the Farmers to a 9-4 win on Saturday, Jan. 27.  With the victory, Neepawa (13-4-0. 26 points) locked down first place in the Tiger Hills Hockey League (THHL) eastern division. In the Melita game, Szucki opened up the scoring in the first, to make it 1-0. Then early in the second, Melita’s Lucas Oliver replied to make it 1-1.
