Concerns come out of cop consultation

Rivers Police Service hosted a public forum on Nov. 17 which was attended by 37 people who expressed a number of concerns. Advertised as open to Daly and Rivers residents, it was surprising to see only a handful of Chimo Beach-area residents, especially when one considers how many rural policing questions were raised at the candidates forum held last month during the election campaign.

The Remembrance Day luncheon was a wonderful success with the largest crowd we’ve seen in years! It was standing room only; we set an extra table for our personal care home veterans and we ran out of food!

Pine Creek Players prepare to perform A Christmas Carol

The Pine Creek Players, a community based theater group based out of Gladstone have spent the past few months busily preparing to perform their 2014 Christmas show “God Bless Us, Everyone!”, a traditional Christmas Carol adaptation by Michael Youngs.

The Nov. 17 meeting of Rivers Legion was called to order with nine members present.  The first order of business was to swear in the new executive: Comrade Darryl Childerhose is the new president; Comrade Ken Young first vice; Comrade R. Witt second vice.
