Beautiful Plains Archives is an incorporated not for profit body dedicated to preserving the history of Neepawa and the surrounding area. We have been supported by the Town of Neepawa financially and by the Beautiful Plains County Courthouse Committee with rent free office and storage space.

Rivers Women’s Institute (WI) members welcomed Sue Klassen as guest speaker at the group’s February meeting. Through Sue’s photos, the ladies were transported to Uganda, and through her enthusiastic commentary, the ladies learned about the valuable work done by the co-operative movement in developing countries.

Pickerel came from Gimli

Rivers and Area Lions Club helds its annual pickerel fy supper on Sunday, Feb. 15 in Rivers Legion Hall. The meal consisted of coleslaw, beans, baked and french fried potatoes, dessert and beverages, all served smorgasbord style. Recently-elected president Don Montague and past-president Jim Boles deep fried fish in the Lions-owned trailer which was parked near the kitchen entrance. The indoor kitchen range and a counter-top gas unit were in use in cooking 200 pounds of fish.
