For the past three years, Rivers Curling Club has had a two-person league meet on Thursday afternoons. This season the two-person league was also held for six Fridays before Christmas.

The club also hosted two-person clinics in February to teach the fun of this sport. All this culminated in an end-of-season two-person bonspiel on March 12; 12 teams entered from Rivers, Rapid City, Brandon and Virden. First-place winners were Dennis and Maxine Veitch of Bradwardine district; Moline’s Beat Gamper and Rapid City’s Greg Esplin placed second; Al and Donna Morken of Rivers came in a close third.

Rivers Curling Club also hosted a bonspiel on St. Patrick’s Day. This event concluded our bonspiels and most action in our seven leagues. The men wrapped up play on Monday, March 19 while the women complete their season on Wednesday, March 14. A championship evening will be held tonight, Friday, March 23, beginning at 7 p.m. Two men’s champions will be crowned as well as a victor between the ladies’ afternoon and evening champs. Come out and support our club while you cheer on your favourite team!
