Neepawa Farmers on edge of elimination

The Neepawa Farmers are on the brink of elimination in their Tiger Hills Hockey League eastern semi-final. A five point night from Michael Reykdal (two goals-three assists) on Thursday, Mar. 10, powered the Carberry Plainsmen to a 7-5 win over the Farmers on Thursday, Mar. 10. This win has given Carberry a solid 3-1 series lead.

Along with Reykdal’s huge effort, Zeanan Zimmer also came up big when it mattered, as he contributed four points (2G - 2A). For the Farmers, Matt Lowry had a pair of goals and an assist while Garrett Rempel provided a goal and two assists. Other goal scorers for Neepawa were Riley Kolesar and Lance Nugent.

The previous evening, the Farmers picked up their first victory of the series with a 6-5 decision. On this night, Matt Lowry had a huge effort with four points (2G - 2A), while Cam Tibbett and Ryan Menei each added three points performances of their own (1G - 2A each). Ward Szucki, Garret Rempel also scored for the Farmers. Zeanan Ziemer was the leading points producer for Carberry with three assists, while Brock Sutherland also added a pair of goals.

The first elimination game of the series will be played tonight at the Yellowhead Centre. Start time for this game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m In the other semi-final, the Killarney Shamrocks currently hold a 3-0 series lead over the Hartney Blues.
