Neepawa’s Halli Krzyzaniak will represent Team Canada at a pair of upcoming hockey events. She’ll be part of the rosters for the National Women’s team and Canada’s National Women’s development team at a two game series in December versus the United States and at the Nations Cup in the new year.

The two teams were selected by Melody Davidson, Hockey Canada’s general manager of national women’s team programs, with support from regional scouts and the coaching staffs. Davidson noted that these events mark critical steps in the evaluation process leading into the IIHF Women’s World Championship.

Canada’s National Women’s team is to face the United States in a pair of games on Dec. 17 in Sarnia, Ontario and Dec. 19 in Plymouth, Michigan. Following that two game series, the National Women’s Development team will complete at the Nations Cup in Füssen, Germany and Telfs, Austria. That tournament will take place from Jan. 4-7, and feature national teams from Canada, Austria, the Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Russia, Sweden and Switzerland.

Following the December Series and 2017 Nations Cup, Hockey Canada scouts, along with the coaching staff, will continue to evaluate players with their club teams during the 2016-17 leading up to the world championship next April in Plymouth.
