An early lead and outstanding 51 save effort from goaltender Brady Plett were not enough for the Neepawa Farmers, as they fell to the Boissevain Border Kings 5-3 on Friday, Nov. 18, in Boissevain. Neepawa jumped out to the 1-0 advantage quickly  in this Tiger Hills Hockey League showdown, as Cam Tibbett scored just 1:20 into the opening period.

Shifting into the second, the Farmers notched a pair of goals just 16 seconds apart. First, Ryan Menei secured one with 7:13 gone in the middle frame. That was immediately followed up with a goal by Matt Lowry, to provide a 3-0 lead to Neepawa. Boissevain replied with one of its own before the end of the second, but still found themselves trailing the Farmers 3-1 after 40 minutes.

Things took a dramatic turn in the third, as the Border Kings overwhelmed the Neepawa defensive zone and peppered Plett with shot after shot. That barrage finally paid off, as Boissevain scored four in the final 20 minutes, including an empty netter to claim the victory. Although Plett did register the loss for the Farmers between the pipes, his 51 save effort made him the standout player of the night for Neepawa. Tibbett also had a solid outing for the Farmers, as he added a pair of assists to the stat sheet, to go along with his early game goal. Other notables included Matt Lowry (one goal - one assist), Jaegger Thomas of Boissevain (1G - 2A) and Meyer Nell, who had a pair of goals, including the eventual game winner for the Border Kings.

With the loss, the Neepawa Farmers record fell to 2-4-0 on the season, while Boissevain remains unbeaten, with an unblemished 7-0-0 record thus far
