Riverdale Community Centre is now home ice to the Rivers Jets senior men’s hockey team (formerly Kenton Cougars). The team consists of a number of local players who have played in the Rivers area, as well as players from surrounding communities.

The team is run by a board of directors and is funded through local sponsorship. The clun is registered in the North Central Hockey League, which consists of the following: Virden, Moosomin, Elkhon/Miniota, Foxwarren, Russell, Grandview and Swan Valley.

Our first home game is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 5 at 8 p.m. vs. Grandview; we are hoping to see lots of local fans at the game! A full schedule will be available at that game, along with the opportunity for fans to help support their senior men’s team. The team has a sponsorship/donation reward letter out to local business to help in the startup expenses of the team. Local fans can also help in supporting the team by purchasing a square in the period score board, which will have a pay out at the end of every period at all home games.

The Nov. 19 game will be Rivers Jets Minor Hockey Night — any Rivers Minor Hockey players who show up in their team jerseys will get in for free. If anyone is wanting further information, they can contact me at This email address is being protected from spambots.
