A pair of local bowlers will represent Manitoba at the 2016 Youth Challenge Nationals. Suade Moyer and Christopher Obsniuk, who both participate weekly in the five pin youth program at Minnedosa Bowl, recently competed at the Youth Challenge Provincials in Carman.

A total of 41 youth bowlers between the ages of 13 and 19 years old took part in the event.

Bowlers representing three divisions: Winnipeg, Central (Carman, Portage La Prairie, Minnedosa) and Westman (Brandon, Carberry) were involved in the five pin tournament. The format consisted of six games bowled in a total pinfall score to declare the champions. Those winners then go on to represent Manitoba at the Youth Challenge Nationals, to be held in March. Both Moyer and Obsniuk qualified and will play for the province at this event.

To help facilitate with the cost of the three day national tournament, a raffle has been organized to raise money for the pair.  Anyone interested in participating can do so by contacting Minnedosa Bowl for details. The draw date is set for Jan. 28.
