When the Neepawa Natives win, they do so in dramatic fashion. The team snapped its ten game losing streak on Wednesday night with a 2-1 victory over the Waywayseecappo Wolverines.

The game remained tied at 0-0 for the first 40 minutes, with Alex Henry and Brandon Holtby putting on a goaltending clinic between the pipes.

In the third period, the offense opened up for the Natives on a power play opportunity. With two Wolverines serving penalties, Neepawa was able to take advantage as Riley Hillis notched the first goal of the game 2:17 into the final frame. Drake Lindsay added an assist on the play.

Waywayseecappo responded with a power play goal of its own at 8:18. Neepawa quickly reclaimed its lead at 11:29 with their second power play goal of the game. Drake Lindsay tallied the goal with assist from Riley Hillis and Steven Phillips.

The final five minutes of the game saw the Wolverines press hard for the equalizer, garnering several opportunities in the Neepawa zone. The Natives were able to hold on for the victory.
