There was very little time for Neepawa to celebrate their impressive road win in Dauphin, as the Natives returned to the Yellowhead Arena on Wednesday, Oct. 22 to face off against the OCN Blizzard. The team however was able to keep its momentum from the previous night going on the way to a 5-3 win.

Unlike the Dauphin game, the scoring was evenly distributed as five different players lit the lamp. Brayden Atkinson and Garett Rempel scored in the opening period to make the score 2-1. OCN scored a single goal in the second to tie things up after 40 minutes. In the third however, Henry Berger, Sam Stormoen and Kevin Miller tallied goals compared to a single marker from the Blizzard, to secure the victory. Alex Henry had another solid night in goal for Neepawa, stopping 37 of the 40 shots he faced.

With the win, Neepawa improves its record on the season to 5-7-1. The next action for the Natives is Friday, Oct. 24 when they travel to Swan River to play the Swan Valley Stampeders. The next home game at the Yellowhead Centre will be on Sunday, Oct. 26, when they take on the Selkirk Steelers.
