Todd Fanning of the Niakwa golf club won this year’s men’s amateur golf championship.

Fanning fired a 74 on Thursday at The Links At Quarry Oaks Golf Club to finish with a four round total score of 10-under, two strokes better than Charlie Boyechko of Southwood, who finished at 8-under for the tournament.

Bryce Sholdice of Bel Acres finished in third at 3-under, followed by Garth Collings of Breezy Bend and Glenboro’s Josh Wytinck, who finished fourth and fifth respectively.

Fanning, Boyechko and Sholdice will now be part of a provincial team that will compete at the 2014 Canadian Men's Amateur Championship from August 4-7.
