Farmers win regular season opener in MSBL

The Neepawa Farmers picked up a win in their regular season opener in the Manitoba Senior Baseball League.

The Farmers travelled to Oak River and ended up coming away with a 7-5 win over the Dodgers on Tuesday in what was the league’s opening night of the season.

Cam Tibbett went 1-for-2 at the plate with two RBI and a run scored for Neepawa, while Garrett Rempel also scored twice in the win. 

Reliever Josh Loewen pitched three innings of relief to earn the win for the Farmers, allowing two runs on five hits, while striking out two batters. 

Daylon Creasy started on the mound for Neepawa, going five innings and giving up three runs on five hits and two walks. 

Ryan Shaw took the loss on the bump for Oak River, allowing five runs on seven walks in 4 2/3 innings.

The Farmers host the Reston Rockets on Sunday.
