MJHL: Natives fall to Steelers

The Neepawa Natives dropped a 6-3 decision to the Selkirk Steelers on Wednesday night in Manitoba Junior Hockey League action.

The Steelers held a 3-2 lead after 40 minutes and ended up scoring three tallies in the third en route to the victory.

Landon Thompson, Derrick Brooks and Lyndon Soper scored for the host Natives, who now sit with a 5-8-1 record.

Riley Derlago, Justin Derlago, Hudson Friesen, Brett Dudar, Regan Stire and Damian Wallack scored for Selkirk, who improved to 5-7-1.

Forward Erik Pushka of the Steelers was named the first star of the game as he had three assists.

Meanwhile, in other MJHL action, the OCN Blizzard defeated the Waywayseecappo Wolverines 3-0.

Nathan Bruyere, Wilson Dumais and Mathew Cameron scored for the Blizzard, who remain as the top team in the league with a 12-3-1 record.
